I know this topic has been discussed at length but I cannot get a clear answer to how often I should give ACV to my birds. Our chicks are about 4 weeks old and I would like to start this if it is safe for them. I have the 1 tablespoon ACV to 1 gallon of water ratio understood but not the frequency.

I am also wondering if garlic is safe or not and how often and at what age this can be used. I do not want to hurt our babies so I’m trying to research first but I get so many different answers

Thank you in advance to anyone who offers some advice.

I add a little garlic to plain yogurt mixed with a little grain as a treat about once a month. ACV I add daily to their water. Water is changed daily or whenever it gets dirty.

I’ve given acv and garlic since about a few days to a week and ever since I don’t measure I just splash a little into their water every few days or once a week same for the garlic it can’t do any harm garlic is great antibacterial and antifungal medicine humans and chickens and hey love it! I mince a couple cloves in the processor or garlic press and add it to the water also about once a week. My birds are about 5 weeks old

Why give them avc and garlic? I've never used either and my chickens are happy and healthy. I don't think I'd want to give my chickens garlic at least, as I know it would flavor the eggs.

Garlic strengthens the immune system for those who don’t want to feed their chicks medicated starter feed it’s all natural. Same thing with the acv a healthy gut is healthy chicks and chickens. Haven’t you heard of people feeding their chickens fermented feed? It’s loaded with all kinds of healthy cultures. wouldn’t you want you chickens to be as healthy as possible especially your chicks. Getting off to healthy a natural start is ok in my books. How much feed garlic you feed them is up to you it doesn’t have to affect the taste. But we consume a lot of garlic in my house so I doubt any would mind. I plan on free ranging my pullets so anything natural I can offer them as well I will.
