Are coconut shavings safe for my coturnix quail?

I actually have 2 questions. I have a 3 week old coturnix quail (she's the only one left of the 6 that hatched). I was wondering if it was safe to house her in a 10 gallon terrarium and if it is safe to use coconut shavings as bedding?

They need better ventilation and more space than a 10 gallon terrarium will provide. The coconut shavings should be fine as bedding, though.

She will also need company. Quail are social.

The lid is mesh. That should be sufficient ventilation, right?

I'm afraid not. It may work as a temporary brooder, but not as a permanent habitat.
