Hello every one just a quick question here.

Are female geese mean? Am getting two a toulouse and an african geese. Both female. To live with my ducks but now my family tells me that they could be mean like wild canada geese.

Thank you itsasmallfarm

Domestic geese, by nature, are less aggressive than wild geese. However the degree of aggression varies by breed. Toulouse geese (I have 11 of them) are less aggressive than are Chinese geese and African geese are.

That being said, during season (even in the absence of a male) they may nest and lay eggs that they will be very protective of.

Geese can be a lot of fun to have around. They can develop a real bond with their humans. Mine follow me around the field like little puppies. But during season the 5 males will charge me like they mean it then turn and run when confronted.
