I have a large magnolia tree in my front yard which sheds a lot of seed pods. I notice the noise when I mow the lawn, but although I'm happy to feed the girls the grass clippings, I'm not willing to do so while I'm hearing the mower chew up the seed pods. Does anyone have an answer? Thank you in advance.

Not harmful, in fact, thought to be medicinal.

Magnolia seeds are high in fat. Extracts of magnolia seeds have also been shown to have anticonvulsant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Wow. I've heard them to be a source of cyanide and a white trash ingredient for LSD. Then again, I've heard a lot of wrong things.
