I fell in love with them when the first three were donated to us nearly 9 years ago. I tried a few other breeds after that, but sold them all when I found out there's a huge market here for fancy silkies. So, just stick to these beauties! Why do you like silkies so much?![]()
We got 8 today thus far. Yesterday, 9 was our total, the most ever! How many eggs did you get today?
Paints and mottled can have white beaks and mottled toes, but if they arent't one of those variations, then they are "pet quality". That doesn't mean they aren't pretty though. If you're trying to breed to the SOP, then yes, ditch those.I hatched a few silkies for my own batch, some of the toes are light colored at the tips, almost whitish. Will this grow out or should I just give them away for free? I have 11 and about 3-4 have this.
ChocolateWhat Silkie colors do you have?
Okay that’s what I thought! They are black ones so I’m gonna give them away. Also: do silkies always have lumps on their head when they are chicks? Or will the ones without them not have big head feathers?Paints and mottled can have white beaks and mottled toes, but if they arent't one of those variations, then they are "pet quality".
