Azolla, where to buy or get it?

I've been looking for sources for Azolla. I've found thepondguy.com and it's a bit pricy with the shipping and all. Is there anywhere else to buy it? And around here I see algae on the ponds not this duck weed.

Also, can anyone tell me if they will winter over out side in zone 6 or do I need to bring it inside?

Maybe here? One pound is a lot and it multiplies quickly.

FYI, I checked out the above sources, too, then called a local business that installs ponds and sells aquatic plants. The owner invited me to come to his greenhouse once a month and harvest it, because he just sucks it up from his potted plants with a wetvac! I got enough to feed the chickens and start a couple of plastic trays for growing it. Win-win!

If you need to save on shipping fees and can find a regular gardener that has it, you don't have to ship the plants in water. All they need is a plastic zippy bag and enough water to keep the bag nice and moist. You can even use a wet paper towel.
