Hello, yesterday a baby bird fell out of its nest. The best is in a internal rain run-off of my porch and the angle and size of the whole make it impossible to put the chick back. I've made a makeshift best a and placed it below the original access, but momma is bit feeding it. I mashed up some dried mealworms with water and fed the little guy, and also made a paste out of some chick starter feed. So far he doesn't seem to be going down hill and in fact just started forming the beginning of his feathers. At the moment I don't know if anything else I can do so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Hector

Keep the baby warm, feed him nutritious baby food, you could try giving him to a wildlife rescue, as baby birds that young have always died when we raised them, probably from malnutrition. However, we did save one that was really young and he grew up and was released.

I'm glad you saved him!

Best of luck!

Keep doing what your doing and when he gets big enough, try to figure out what kind of bird it is and research how to take care of it

Thanks WayWay, I'm going to do my best. This is the third that fell out the nest, but the first that we found alive. My ladies got a hold of the others before I got home. My chicks are vicious. My wifey told me about it when I got home.

Hi!
Here ya go. Get a small bottle of Poultry Nutri-Drench from Bovidr Labs. It is a favorite of wild life rehabbers because it doesn't need to be digested. Mainlines directly into the bloodstream. measurable in 30 minutes with 99% utilization. Here's the website where you can read about it and the testimonials from wild life rehabbers. http://www.nutridrench.com click on "Poultry" . For "Testimonials" see: http://www.nutridrench.com/poultry-testimonials.html Read the "Exotics" letter.
I have used the Bovidr Labs formulas on my poultry and collies for over a decade. Just great stuff!
Give the baby bird one drop by mouth. Repeat as needed every 8-10 hours.
Best Success, Karen
( who agrees about finding a wild life rehabber for this baby.)

Thanks 3riverschick,
I ordered some. Unfortunately since I live in Spain the shipping can take up to 3 weeks. I'm going to go to my local feed stores today and see what they have. I've talked to some of my friends that are rehabilitators here and unfortunately they dont take wild birds. They mainly work with horses, and work with pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks and geesebut really miss treated pets. To me landing on my table alive sounds like that baby found the perfect person. Not to mention I have 6 kids that I need to teach to love and care for all living things and kill only when needed. They understand where meat comes from, but don't kill unnecessarily, not even ants.

Thanks again,
Hector
Here's my son just yesterday with a small lizard!
