I have just hatched a polish chick with what appears to be a bubble on one of its eyes. The other eye is perfectly fine. Has anyone seen this before?

His other eye doesn't look right, neither does the comb. I think his skull is deformed.
It's the same eye in both pictures, the other eye is completely normal. They're a polish chick so deformed skull is part and parcel of the breed haha. The 'comb' I think you're referring to are the nostrils of the chick (also supposed to be enormous in polish), as you can't really see the comb in the pictures

A common defect in the eye is when one or both eyes seem to pop out or bulge. In most cases the eye will shrink and dry up, leaving the chick blind in the eye. Can you get a picture tomorrow of the face straight on with both eyes visible if possible? It is good that this is only in one eye since chickens may do fine with one eye.
