baby chick eating tick that might have been exposed to a pesticide

I just found a tick on my bed so I fed it to my 2 ½ week old chicks. Then it occurred to me, it might have fell off my dog that is on Nex Gard, the active ingredient is Afoxolaner. I wont do it again but should I be worried? is there something I should do?

The amount of med in the tick should be minuscule. I would watch but not worry.

And yes, I wouldn't feed the ticks to your chicks as habit.

I'd be doing a daily 'tick search' on my dogs and myself, so any found can be safely removed and destroyed. That's what we did growing up in 'tick country', northern Wisconsin. Finding one in my bed wouldn't be a good thing!
