I have worked with chickens, but am staring my first flock. We are pucking out chicks today!

We are getting 4 or 5

Not sure yet. Looking for Rhode Island Reds and Plymouth Rocks
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I'm excited to introduce my grandkids to chickens and collecting eggs with them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Spending time outside, gardening, reading.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I have 2 grown kids, 3 small grandkids. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. Family and animals are my life.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have known about BYC for over 10 years. I hatched and raised a brood of baby ducks after mom was killed.
