I dont know if this is the right place for poults. I got two from rural king 2 days ago, one of them non stop chirps unless i am holding him. I have tried everything and he still refuses to sleep unless i hold him. the room is dark and the other one is sleeping right under brooder light so i figured its not because they are too hot. he waits at the edge of the box and runs back and forth wanting me to pick him up. anyone else deal with this?

Turkeys don't do well with change. I would assume it misses the big group. It will adapt until you change or move them again. Expect the same behavior for a bit. One year I moved a batch to a bigger brooder, and they sat in a big sad pile for 24 hours before beginning to get up and move about.

This is unfortunately common when you human imprint poults. There have been a number of threads over the years with similar results. The only thing you can do is to try and ignore it. By constantly picking it up, you are reinforcing this behavior by "rewarding" it.

If you want to change it's behavior, you have to change how you react to its behavior.
