My 3 day old chick has a bald spot on their crop. I've noticed that their crop looked like it was tilted a little to the right a few days ago and now it's balding, does anyone knows why this is?
I was a little worried at first because the last time I saw a slight bump on the side of a baby chicks neck was on his auntie Rex who had wry neck for most of her life and no treatment put a dent in her neck problems, he's also half silkie. But it just looks it's his crop.

I would just monitor the crop to see that it's emptying. Some chicks eat more and the crop is more pronounced. The chick is losing it's down so it looks more obvious.
Is their eating habits going to be an issue or is it ok?

Chicks eat a lot and they don't have feathers to cover the crop so it's more noticeable.

It would be good to get into the habit of checking the crops occasionally to make sure they are emptying overnight. Doesn't take but a minute and it gets the bird used to being handled.
