Barn loft for a chicken house?

I need to build a house large enough for 200 layers. I already have a 36x36 horse barn with a full loft. Has anyone ever heard of someone converting a barn loft into a chicken house?

I think with proper ventilation and adequate cleaning, it would be great! I would definitely put poop boards under the roosts. Will these hens free range?

Jmo opinion once again but you need to think of hauling food and water up to them and hauling dirty bedding down. Im assuming the loft is at least 10 ft off ground if you do decide to free range how will you get them down everyday? I would like to hear your plans for these as that would be a huge area.

I don't have all of the details worked out. That is why I asked if anyone has known of someone doing this.

Sorry. When you do if you would please post pics that would be great. Always looking for ways to improve things and learn new. One things for sure lot less chance of predators getting to them.
