I've got a tomcat outside who decided its fun to pee all over the hay in our yard barn where I store the chicken feed, hay, and dog house. Any ideas on getting the cat urine smell out? I've removed most of the hay already but it still smells.

What is it actually on? I've never had this problem myself, but maybe a vinager and water

mix would work magic? I use it on the floor when the dogs have accidents, and to clean cages,

& my rabbit's hutch. It works really well.

We've used Oxyboost to get urine smell out of things. Even concrete. It works well on stains and blood, too. Kind of like a big cheap powdered version of using peroxide. It's a concentrated version of the active ingredient in Oxy-clean, without the artificial fragrance or other additives.

not sure if it works or not, but my grandma used to put a bunch of moth balls scattered around to keep the cats OUT. Maybe that will help in the long run so he doesnt come back?

Not sure about getting the the smell out though.

My dad gave me some bales of straw about two week ago to use in the straw bale garden, when I got done loading and unloading I smelled like tomcat. I used baking soda in the wash to remove the smell. Also there is a product called Natures Specialty that takes out urine smells and it is safe for pets. If you have Pet Smarts in your area they sale it.

Moth balls can be highly toxic and I wouldn't put them around any animals you want to keep alive and healthy.

There is actually a product called Barn Yard Deodorizer from Randall Burkey that is very safe to use around animals and effective at removing odors. I also use an extremely effective product called Zapsit to remove odor and stains, but you need to be careful animals don't get into the area until it is completely dry.
