Barred Rock Earlobe has Scab, Treat or Leave Alone?

The title states it all, I will try and get photos here in a few.

My Barred Rock hen has a scab on her earlobe. The injury itself looks like a chunk was taken/pecked out. The scab is dry and does not look infected or nasty. Are these injuries more common to fighting or could she have scratched it? More importantly, should I just leave it alone or treat it? I have TAO plus a wound cleaning/closing spray that is meant for dogs/cats. The spray is probably unwise since the ear canal is so close to the wound.

I "tried" to get several but she was not having it.

A flap covers the ear canal, so spraying a little antiseptic on the ear lobe shouldn't cause problems.

Thank you for the information. She is going to be very displeased with me later lol. I will spray the antiseptic on a paper towel first and rub it on. Kind of a small target for a spray.

Yes, indeed. Our chickens are quick to let us know when we do something to displease them. And to think most people consider them merely a food source.
