TRALALARA1
Songster
Hi there! Has anyone tried this combination? If you have, how did it go? I’ve got four eggs in the incubator ready to hatch tomorrow. What colors can I expect?

Thank you! Good explanation. I might keep a male and a female for a later cross. I’m looking for a robust sized chicken with blue or lavender barring. I know there are already cuckoo lavender English Orpingtons but mostly I’m just experimenting.Lavender is recessive, so it won't show up in this first cross. These chicks that hatch will be heterozygous for lavender (carry only one copy of the gene). If you breed two of these chicks together, about 25% of their offspring will be lavender because they will get 2 copies of the lavender gene, one from both parents.
