Hi there! Has anyone tried this combination? If you have, how did it go? I’ve got four eggs in the incubator ready to hatch tomorrow. What colors can I expect?

Lavender is recessive, so it won't show up in this first cross. These chicks that hatch will be heterozygous for lavender (carry only one copy of the gene). If you breed two of these chicks together, about 25% of their offspring will be lavender because they will get 2 copies of the lavender gene, one from both parents.

Thank you! Good explanation. I might keep a male and a female for a later cross. I’m looking for a robust sized chicken with blue or lavender barring. I know there are already cuckoo lavender English Orpingtons but mostly I’m just experimenting.

If your rooster is a true barred rock he'll have 2 barring genes and all the offspring will be barred. Yes all will carry a lavender gene that won't show and all male offspring will only have 1 barring gene so they won't produce 100% barred chicks.
