Can you elaborate the difference between hatchery stock and non hatchery stock? Out of curiousity?
Here's my Heritage Plymouth Barred Rock to show the clear differences.

Note the crisp, clean even barring, bright yellow legs, 5 pointed single comb, his size, & no squirrel tail.

The crisp clean lines was the first thing I noted. I am not sure what a squirrel tail is though. Sorry to hijack this thread, but what do you think of my guy? He was about 17-20 weeks in this picture. There are five or six points on the comb, but I was counting from the picture.


Edited to add: and I already know he’s not as crispy as your boy 😂

Sloppy.

Squirrel tail is a very high set tail, that curles down just like a squirrel.

My boy about 18 - 19 weeks.
