Basque Questions

I have a chance to "acquire" a flock of 5 Basque hens and 1 Basque rooster. The owner said they are about 1 year old and are starting to molt. I have an interest in hatching some of these since they are a rare breed around these parts. I do have a couple of questions......

1. Does anyone have any info on this breed?

2. Looking at the below pic, is this a certain line of Basque?

3. How long could I expect them to moly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your question made me curious about these chickens so I clicked on one of the Feathersite links and there was an interesting article about them. If you have a chance to get these, go for it...they sound like great birds!

Okay......Follow up please.

Did you buy them? I have a dozen eggs coming next month and am totally pumped about it. They are terrific chickens. Kind of like a Buff colored Delaware someone mentioned. Did you search for Basques on the top for the thread?
