I'm wanting to add some blue egg layers to the crew, which breeds would be the best true blue egg layers without having to guess as chicks if they're gonna lay blue or not. And which hatchery would have the better genetics for price or does that come into effect for blue egg layers? I have owned ee's but they laid light green eggs.

Cream Legbars lay very pretty blue eggs but they are not large. A friend of mine crosses the Cream Legbars with White Leghorns and the females they produce lay large blue eggs. They are called Sapphires. Not sure if the hatcheries produce this type of Sapphires tho. :hmm

So with either of those breeds blue eggs are a sure thing? I looked at both on hatchery sites but they are high dollar which I am prepared to spend but just wanted to make sure any offspring wouldn't start putting out brown or green eggs.

Is there any reason why Murray hatchery birds are 4 dollars and meyer and cackle are 20 something each. Murray is sold out of course but if they're 15 dollars cheaper ill wait till next year to add them.

Because those are EEs not true Ameraucanas. Check the spelling of Ameraucana on their website, if it’s not spelled correctly then they are EEs.
