Hi all,
I’m searching for a solar coop light that I can set a timer to turn off and on at certain times. Pref no remotes, unless it has a long range and can work through walls 😅
Main purpose is to help guide my flock back in to their coop at night as they won’t do it on their own.

The only options I can find is automatic lights that stay constantly on bc the inside of my coop is dark, and one’s with remotes that don’t work bc I have to be at the most 10 ft away AND pointed directly at the light which beats its purpose as I would like to be able to not have to go down there every single night especially if I have other arrangements.

Thanks!

Why not?
How long have you had these birds?
Does your coop have plenty of windows?

I'd use a battery powered puck light, turn it on an hour before roost time, then off when you lock up after dark.

There are timers for solar systems, but I doubt you'll find anything off the shelf.

I’ve had this flock for about a year. The prior flock I had before this one (wiped out by an attack) was smarter and would coop themselves in them evening, this flock not so much so I need lighting in the evening. I have 2 windows in the coop.

I would like the light so for the nights I’m unable to let them out to free range they will put themselves up from their run.

I’ve searched online for lights but the only thing I can find is remote controlled. I meant to state earlier they don’t necessarily have to be solar but I would prefer it.

Might want to confine them to the coop for 3-6 days, that might home them to the coop.
I’ve had them for about a year. I’ve tried everything with them. Light is the only thing that seems to work. I think it all comes down to my rooster. He refuses to come inside unless he can see, otherwise he will stay out all night and ofc the girls go where he goes.
I’d like to add its not the whole flock, maybe only 6 or 7 of them. The rest know where to go.
I’m currently plugging a light up every evening and unplugging it after sunset. Even on the days I don’t let them out to free range. There’s just some days I would like not worry about walking out into the cold and rain to lock them up.
