I want to hear what everyone thinks is the BEST duck food for ducklings and adults, no expense spared.

Also ok if what you think is the best is a non duck specific feed with supplementation.

I have 18 week old ducks and chickens. Is 20% Kalmbach flock maker with calcium on the side for the layers good through adulthood? I think I need to start adding nutritional yeast back in for the ducks too.

I was trying to find out if I need to switch them to a different feed now that they are close to 20 weeks.

I’m starting to get little chicken eggs. :celebrate

I feed my adult ducks Nutrena NatureWise All Flock (because it contains 125 ppm niacin) with crushed oyster shell on the side.

When they were young they got Kalmbach 20% Flock Maker crumbles with nutritional yeast mixed in.

I found that my ducks didn't eat all the nutritional yeast if it was added to pellets as it tends to fall through to the bottom, whereas with crumbles it mixes in better. However, I prefer pellets for adult ducks because there is less waste and they don't get as lumpy when wet. That's why I went with a feed that doesn't require supplemental niacin.

I've used an all flock from duckling through adult since I got them. My first ducks are now 7 years old. I would add some nutritional yeast to their feed for the first 6 months.

I'm currently feeding flock maker with oyster shell on the side and have very healthy ducks (and chickens).

My ducks/geese are a little over 3 months and they have been on Manna Pro Duckling/Gosling Crumble (I get it off Amazon-$20 for 25 lb bag) so far with some added niacin/garlic powder stuff.

I am looking to switch to a pellet or grain mix from the feed mill near by at some point. My animals are pets and not so much for meat/eggs.

Honestly, in my uneducated opinion it really depends on your climate, set up ect...and what you have the animals for.

I have chatted with people that JUST feed cracked corn and they are mainly on lush grass all day. Some people mix 20 things together to make a super feed. In the end, both flocks are healthy and happy.

Best duck feed, expensive: Mazuri, used by most exhibition breeders.

Best duck feed, affordable: Kalmbach Flock Maker (ducklings), Kalmbach Duck/Goose Pellets (adults)

I use Kalmbach Flock Maker and Duck/Goose feed. I also add Fertrell Breeder Supplement, since I breed and show my waterfowl. Mazuri is the best choice, but I can't fit it in my budget right now.

I use scratch and peck chick starter (I add niacin to the water) for ducklings. Once they are big enough for whole grains I feed a mix of organic whole oats and whole peas with fertrell nutri balancer. I get 600# oats and 300# peas, mixed at my local feed store. I add the nutribalancer when I am putting it in storage barrels. I am allergic to corn and soy, so I feed my animals special food for that reason. I’d consider the scratch and peck full time if money were no issue.
