Best Incubator (Low Budget)

Hey guys. So although I have quail and plan on selling hatching eggs, I also plan on adding to my own flock. I keep them in rabbit hutches (breeding groups of 4 to 5), and although I only have one cage right now, eventually I'll have more. Thus I need to keep bringing in new quail. Also, chicks make more revenue than eggs for the most part.
What is a good quality, good result, low budget incubator? Any size is fine- I will just be hatching quail eggs. I am fine with manually turning eggs, however I have not hatched eggs on my own before.

Incuview! I love mine. And you don't need to buy special turning trays for your quail eggs, like other incubator brands require for use of the turner. The Incuview turning tray will accommodate anything from quial to turkey sized eggs.
It's just as stable and reliable as the expensive brinsea models, with all the same bells and whistles for a fraction of the cost.

I suggest a DIY incubator. I made one for under $45 & it's so rock solid in temperature that incubation is boring when compared to the exciting times with my LG.

I have looked into the 7 egg ones that Amazon has in stock all the time. I the reviews are mixed, though. (Not the $100 brinsea one).

I have looked at the styrofoam DIYs, but we don't have the supplies and I'm not sure how much it will.cost.

What I found in incubators cheap is what you get. Plus a lot of worry and disappointment.

Lgs can be a wild ride. I would not recommend those.

For a good styro look at some hovabators. Genesis 1588 is a very good incubator. I have 2 of these and they work excellent.

I also have brinsea octagon 20. Great as well.

Plus incubating is addictive so go bigger than what you think you might want.

I now have gqf cabinet incubators. 3 plus a hatcher. Got them off craigslist. About 200 -250 for older 1202 models.

If possible save up and get a better top of the line incubator it will save a lot of disappointment.


How many eggs do you want to set a week?

This will be the biggest factor on the size you may need.

Woah. I just looked at it, (styrofoam cooler type incubator), and wow the supplies would be heap. Under $20 at walmart.

I don't have $100 to $250 to just spend. I may look at a DIY incubator. Now that I'm actually looking into it, it doesn't seem so scary.
Hatching, selling eggs, that's my profit. That and training horses are my jobs.
