I’ve never owned quail, but I have a flock of micro class B seramas and a solo micro A. While I do my research as to what environment I should have the quail- I would like to find a list of good hatcheries. I was able to find a good number of eBay eggs, but the hatcheries elude me. Also I’ve tried out enough chicken hatcheries to know which have genetic weakness. I was hoping someone could tell me about their own experience with quail ones.

Honestly the best luck I've had were from private sellers on farm groups or CL. I've bought from several " big breeders" over the years (eggs I don't buy adults for bio security) and their eggs didn't hatch any different from back yard types. The eggs that did hatch the birds were oftentimes more aggressive and I ended up culling them.

Coturnix? If you're looking for day olds, I don't know anyone who ships chicks. It's much more common to ship eggs. Both Myshire and Southwest Gamebirds will ship juveniles (and eggs of course). Quite a few people in the quail forum use Myshire regularly and I have no complaints about SWG.

I have had both good and bad luck with local breeders, but do expect them to be mutts color wise.

I’ve sustained a covey of Jumbo Wilds Corturnix Quail for over a year primarily for the eggs. I followed MyshireFarms YouTube channel for 6 mos. to gain knowledge as Zack has excellent info on his site. I purchased eggs at Myshire and also the usu. (incubator, tote (for chicks), chick warming plate, Wynola Ranch cage). And have worked with 3 hatches. I’ve decided to just raise hens, easier. I’m waiting to restock my hens when Zack has the Wilds back in stock as these ladies do best within a 1 1/2 yr window. I’m happy with they’re eggs- huge! Also, in my strick HOA I’ve successfully raised hens in my insulated garage with no complaints. Hot summers are worse for me then winters even though I’m close to the Canadian border. I’ll need to figure out a better ventilation solution.

I have been hatching coturnix from Southwest Gamebirds for a few years. Hatch rates have been all over the place but unlucky hatch rates were probably because of shipping, so I do not blame the hatchery. Plus they gave us a good discount on a new batch after we only had around 15% hatch. If you are wanting quail for eggs or meat I would recommend their jumbo whites or jumbo browns. We’ve hatched a few and they are pretty large birds, their eggs too. However if you want birds more for show, I would recommend the mixed collection. We always get it because that is what he have had the best luck with and the birds have always turned out healthy. The colors and sizes from this collection are all so unique, it’s always so fun watching them hatch not knowing what you’ll get!

Oh I have seen that website! I use it for looking at coturnix mutations!
