I THOUGHT that the fly predators (Spalding Labs) weren't doing their job, since the flies are still bugging my horses. Last night, when I was feeding the chicks (4 months old, now), I thought I was going to be consumed by gnats. Thankfully, I discovered that THEIR run was COVERED with fly predators!!! (Had they Been gnats, they would have devoured me.) The birds don't eat them, AND I've had absolutely NO flies around them, even though I had covered 1/2 the run with grass clippings which got soaked from all of the excess 3-4 inches of rain this past week.

I would heartily recommend these bugs IF you have other livestock. The price tag for 5 monthly mailings was $120.00

Horse owners spend a ton of money on fly spray and other fly killing devices every year, so we're used to buying a gallon of spray for $52.00 and spending over that much on the rest.

Just an FYI....

I have used Fly Predators from Spalding labs for several years now, and there is hardly ever a fly around. I have three horses and LOTS of poop, but very few flies. I highly recommend them! Get started early in the season with them - I get my first shipment in April here in WNC.

I've thought of using them. Glad to hear they work. I was hoping that the chickens would help out but they are ignoring the flys. And we have LOTS of them this year.

Is it safe to use around ducks chickens peacocks etc? I can’t find any info on safety around those birds
