So I have 1 Black Jersey Giant Roo and 8 hens. I have had them for about 2 years and got a few chicks from them but never one like this one. He’s 7 months old now and he’s black and white. I thought it was so strange because all of mine are fully black and any chicks before him had white when hatched but grew their black feathers out, but not this one. I figure maybe since my chickens came from a hatchery there was a mix up early on but what could be? He’s very handsome though I absolutely love him. And at 7 months he’s almost as big as his father. Another strange thing was that his father is super territorial. We’ve had to separate any roo’s from him in the past because he’d bully them but for some reason he doesn’t mind this one. Wanted to share and see what others thought..

No I only have Black Jersey Giants. That’s where my confusion came from. I used to have buff orpingtons but got rid of them almost a year ago. I figure the mix has to be from the hatchery I purchased my original chicks from that are the chickens I have today, which is a bit upsetting because they we’re supposedly full bred but it’s just weird because I’ve had a lot of chicks hatch from these Jersey Giants the past year and he’s the first this color. But he really is such a handsome boy. Named him Eclipse 🥰

All of your Jersey giants are from a hatchery? That is strange.
Did you have a buff Orpington rooster or only orp hens?
