Black comb and wattle

Hi all, in the last few days I have noticed something black taking over the wattle and comb of my six month old Polish Cockrell. Since he was born he has been healthy all the time and none of the other hens or Cockrells have anything similar. The enclosure is clean but since that there has been lots of rain recently the ground is quite muddy. He has managed to get muddier a lot easier than any of the other Polish hens. He also seems to have lost his prestige and has got a bit quieter.

Is it possible he has some frostbite on his comb?

You could look closely on his skin for evidence of mites and their eggs. A clearer picture might also help.
