Hi y'all!

I got some chicks at my local feed store about 2 weeks ago. I got 2 sapphire assorted chicks and 2 from the bin labeled black star. I love gray colored hens so when I saw a few gray chicks in the bin with the black stars I got one.
It has an ever so light yellow mark on the head and the feathers seem to be coming in barred...? But I can't find anything about male black stars being gray.

Here's a pic of the chicky next to the other black star I got.

Any thoughts on breed or gender?

Are Black Star and Black Sex-Links the same thing? I looked them both up and the chicks and adults look very similar, but different hatcheries have them labeled differently.

Yes! Black Stars are a specific Black Sex Link mix. Similar to Red Sex Links. They're often called Novogens, ISA Browns, Red Stars, Cinnamon Queens etc
