Blind baby goat circling

I am hoping someone can help me. One of our oldest goats had a premature baby almost two weeks ago. He was less than two pounds, no teeth, and very skinny but was still strong considering. Mom cleaned him off but would not allow him to nurse. I milked her and gave made sure he got enough colostrum. At first I had to syringe feed him but after a few days he got stronger and he took the bottle. Ever since the beginning he appeared blind. Gave him an injection of B complex and selenium but vitamins. He now responds very well to our voice but when he is hungry or sometimes randomly he will turn in circles until he hits something and moves on. Is this normal for a blind baby goat. I realize he may have neurological issues and that doesn’t bother me but I want to make sure I am doing all I can.

Also, he is now a pet and in the house.

When my doe went blind (forget what she had, but it cleared up after being treated, I think it was called goat polio?), she didn't run in circles. She would just stay still until she had some outside signs that she needed to move somewhere else. But she also was capable of seeing before she got sick, she wasn't born without sight so I don't know how that would change attitudes

I had a blind chicken that would turn in circles. I think she could see partially and was looking for shadows she recognized. Hopefully someone who knows about goats will chime in

That would make sense though if he possibly can see shadows even if it is only out of one eye.

If that was my kid, I would first of all get some thiamine. You have to get it from the vet, but it is not very expensive. He may have polio and the treatment for polio is thiamine. If he has polio, he should clear up fairly quickly. In any event the thiamine can't hurt. I had a blind kid years ago. She did not circle but the goats I had with polio did. As for the blind kid I put her in a dark room and shone a bright light in her eyes. You could see that structures inside the eye were missing.
