Hi all, we built a coop using board and batton with a metal roof this past spring for our first flock of chickens. We have had no issues up till now.
We are currently experiencing a winter storm with severe winds and 2” of rain expected. I went up to coop today and see that water is making its way in through the walls, presumably through the cracks the battons cover.
What can or should I do at this point?
I do think it’s due to the wind driven rain but should I do anything for today/ tonight?
It warm out now about 40 F but will be getting cold overnight to about 10F, I am concerned about frostbite with the moisture. We have had not had an issue with regards to ventilation up to this point.
Coop is 8x12 with 8 foot ceilings for 10 chickens.
Thank you!

How much water...dripping/running down walls or just some damp wood?
About the only thing you could do would be to attach on the plastic outside where the water is blowing in. It would need to dry out and warm up to use some kind of caulking.
Just damp wood… I might be more concerned than needed but since I’m new to this I’m not sure what’s ok or not.
