Hi! So from pictures I've seen online I'm pretty sure this is a brahma chick. But I just want to confirm with a few of you guys Also, is it supposed to look so scraggly? Lol. It's 5 weeks old today. Thanks!!

It's a dark brahma and in a few more weeks he will feather in pretty and won't look so scraggly it's at the age of where they don't look so cute lol

Gotcha, just wanted to make sure! It seems to be a bit high strung. Does that point toward a cockerel?

It's also the only one of my flock that isn't fully feathered yet. They are all 5 weeks old.

It's definitely a cockerel. Totally okay and normal if Brahmas are scraggly, especially cockerels. They're very slow to mature Here's an example of one of my Partridge Brahma cockerels at six weeks even! Feathering in just takes a while

I have noticed with my brahmas females feather faster and get more feathers than males plus his stance makes me believe he is male
