Hello! I've had some Ameraucanas with super big swooped back neck feathers that reminds of ingrown araucana tufts. I'd love to get tuft(ish) chickens since araucanas are hard to find, do you think I can breed the fluffy neck feathers and out breed the muffs/beard? Any genetic info or advice is appreciated!

As far as I know, the swooped neck feathers are caused by the beard gene.

Not my pictures.
But some Araucanas have beards and tufts

One of my Silver Ameraucana girls. Bothe have the neck ruff.

They are both juveniles still. Not even six months old yet.

Heres a good example, the neck feathers are swooped behind their head. I want to try to breed a chicken with big neck feathers and little to no beard. Do you think I can breed out the beard while keeping the neck feathers?
