I've heard that if I breed 2 frizzles I'll get a frazzle (a frizzle that loses all its feathers) is this true?? also what exactly is a frazzle? I just hatched some jap bantam x frizzle and wondering if I breed with the chicks will their chicks end up 'frazzle' ? also, I have some frizzle girls (and boy) they get the frizzle from their fathers side and seem to be losing feathers and the wing feathers have become pins, is this some sort of frazzle thing?? and no, there is no rooster to peck nor mites!

Do not breed frizzle to frizzle. A percentage will be frazzle- about a quarter of them. A quarter normal, and 50% frizzles. It's not right to subject chickens to being frazzles.

A frizzle chicken should breed only to a smooth bird. The gene is a co-dom so only one copy is needed for those nice curls. Then if you get 2 copies things go haywire and you get the frazzles.

Thanks! I can get another jap bantam rooster here so I'll keep the frizzle girls and breed with a new rooster :thumbsup
