Breeding in Lavender to Cream Legbars? Salmon Faverolles?

Okay- lets say I wanted to create my own line of Opal Legbars would it be as "simple" (😆) as crossing in a lavender bird, say a lavender Orpington over a crested cream legbar and then breeding that F1 generation to each other or back to the lavender Orpington Roo?

If this is how one would achieve this, is there another breed that would be better to use then a lavender Orpington rooster?

Then my next question is about salmon Faverolles and if it would even be possible to create a lavender version of them or are they on an incompatible base? Or maybe something like the porcelain Mille Fleur/confetti satin silkies I've seen being worked on- could you do that with a Faverolles?

Both photos borrowed from the Internet - first set I know came from Lauren Taylors Project Silkies and the second may have but I'm not certain. Could of been another breeder in that project

Hi,

I know it's been a couple of weeks since you posted this but I saw it went unanswered so searched here to see if I could find out anything.

Here's a thread that around post #8 gets interesting about faverolles and lavender.

Here's another where someone was asking about creating lavender faverolles.

There are other colors of faverolles already but doesn't sound like lavender is one of them, yet anyway!

Thank you. Unfortunately those two post seem to be about everything on here regarding the color on Faverolles and the one lady actually had blues not actually lavender 🤔 I did happen to find one person on the Faverolles fb group that seems to have a project with lavender as the goal and I think she is far enough in to actually have created them. I am trying to figure out if I can start from salmon and if I should do more porcelain type birds of I do or if lavender would even be possible (with good solid smooth color) if I started with salmon. I know I'm the porcelain silkie projects that people are able to start on a red MF base and get beautiful porcelain Satins but I don't know if Faverolles are genetically a different base or not? I keep seeing that I have to start with black Faverolles. My question now is how where black Faverolles created to begin with? Did they start from salmon too? Lots of questions very little answers....seems there is not as many people working with them especially project colors 🤷
