I went to check on my 8 eggs before going into lockdown and they have all died! Because my incubator has malfunctioned and the temperature was around 50°C, has anyone else had this problem????

i have emailed brinsea and complained as this 8 already had homes and now they have all gone! I am very disappointed and upset but I’m worried brinsea wont do anything as my incubator is 2 years old 😭

Sorry for your loss :hugs
How often have you used your incubator?
Have you been checking the temp/humidity at least daily?
Did you candle the eggs?
Was there a loss of power?
I have my incubator on from March till the last batch in about September every year.
I check my temp everytime I go to turn them and my humidity daily,
Yes I candled then that’s how I could tell :(
And no as my clock which usually resets if a power loss is still going!

I'm so sorry to hear that this happened! This could be an issue with the fan, or the temperature dial could have been messed with. Even a small bump could affect it drastically. Was the fan running when you checked it at 50°C?

Also I apologize that there has been a delay in email responses. We've been doing the best we can to work through them, but we are a small company dealing with an unusually high number of orders and emails due to the quarantine. Did you register your incubator for the 3-year warranty?

the fan was still running,I have had an email back but they are saying my serial code is from 8 years ago even though I brought it less than 3 years ago so now I’m stuck :(

Were you looking at the thermometer on the incubator or a separate one?
Did you purchase the incubator from us or from someone else?
We have the one provided with the incubator and an extra one in just in case - and I brought of one of tour distrubutors

Well the one provided was a lot over 40 as Thats the highest it reads so I worked it out at around that but the other one definitely said that
Hmmmm... Do you know if the thermal fuse blew after the temp got that high? Normally it won't go past 120°F before it blows.

Also, if you purchased it from someone else, would you mind sending me your proof of purchase? I can take a look into what we can do. My email is [email protected], just mention in the body that you're coming from this forum.
