I am a first time chicken owner and have nine, 4 week old buff orpingtons. I read that they are a heavy breed and was recommended to add vitamins like D and K to their water so they don't have bone problems. How long should I give them the vitamins?

They shouldn't need any extra vitamins. Just give them regular chick/starter. It is formulated for growing chicks, and the vitamins and minerals they need are included in the feed.

Buff Orps are a dual purpose breed. They are not prone to overeat or become overweight like Cornish X or other strictly meat type birds.
