I walked out to the coop this morning to feed the girls and saw my 4 year old black sex link hanging from a rope attached to the ceiling of the coop. She must've got caught up in it jumping down from the perch. The rope was under her wing (armpit area) and kind of around her neck. She could've been there for up to two days. I don't check on them every day because of the large feeding tube and water they have.
Anyway, I took her out of the rope and put her down. Her wings were just dropping down to the side and she seemed dazed. I left her by the water and food while I was gone to work. I came home later and she was sitting in roughly the same spot but had been drinking. She can walk slowly, but her wings don't move and drag on the ground. She doesn't show any sign of pain when I move her wings around, and they seem to have full range of motion. Also, her poop is watery. I thought that maybe she was just really sore. But it hasn't gotten better all day.
I live in central Utah and the winter has warmed up quite a bit. Temperatures are between 35-55 degrees right now.
See pics.
