Opinions? I have some new chicks coming in 20 days and have a free source for buckwheat hulls, but am unsure if they would be suitable for use as chick bedding in the brooder. I've heard in various areas that I need to be aware of respiratory infections & so forth.
** The hulls are a byproduct of making buckwheat flour, and are used as stuffing in hypoallergenic pillows, bedding for cattle, horses & hogs, stuffing and long term packing for hunting equipment etc. (because they absorb odors etc.)
