This is my FIRST POST, woot woot!! Hello everyone. Hopefully folks that keep Brahma's.....particularly the buff brahma variety, will see this. So I have two sisters, same age and hatch mates, and I suspect one is laying the past three weeks this silly, tiny, little cream egg. It doesnt grow in size like it should be. I get it....the first week or so they are small, but this is bantam size which makes me ponder if it is a silkie egg. I have a silkie hen too. She hasnt laid yet....11 months old. Here's why I think it could be the brahma's egg. Its laid up high in a coop. My silkie has NEVER been seen up there, as she stays low. However, the brahmas arent due to lay until April! And it would seem it's only coming from one sister brahma. It's round, cream and small. Bigger than a serama egg, but much small than my Australorp and Easter Eggers. So I google "Buff Brahma egg" and it doesnt show me good comparisons. So do they have small, cream, round eggs?? Its crazy if this giantic hen would lay such a small egg. I just have never seen that silkie more than 2 foot off the ground. Anyone have experience with brahma eggs? Thanks!
