Not a Wyandotte. It looks like an Orpington mix with that single comb and white legs.
I agree with both of junebuggena's posts.Definitely a cockerel. Pullets don't start to turn red in the combs until about 14 to 18 weeks old, just before they are ready to lay eggs.
Thanks. We got five chicks from my sister-in-law's elementary school after the kindergarteners hatched them. They were straight run and they didn't know what kind they got, so we are trying to piece it together as they matureWe are not breeders or anything. Does Orpington mix just mean a cross breeding of different types of orpingtons or one that is just not true to the breed characteristics?![]()
