Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me with a genetics question? I have 4 gold laced polish hens. Unfortunately the one we thought was a roo is a hen. But I do have an extra buff laced roo. Now my question. Can anyone tell me what I will end up with if I pair them? Thank you. Y'all are great.

By buff laced do you mean buff with white edging?

Buff Laced Polish are Gold Laced with homozygous dominant white. So if you breed a Buff laced rooster to a Gold Laced hen, 100% of the chicks will look like Buff laced but with somewhat richer tone(two copies of dominant white tend to dilute gold color)

Buff laced Polish are ER/ER, Co/Co, Db/Db, Pg/Pg, Ml/Ml, I/I. Gold Laced Polish are ER/ER, Co/Co, Db/Db, Pg/Pg, Ml/Ml, i+/i+

Thank you so very much. I'm kind of excited to see the chicks now. Now if o may ask another question? The last paragraph which I think I'm making a safe assumption saying that those are abbreviations for different genes. (I'm showing my ignorance here. But that's why I'm here) Now to the question. Could you recommend a decent free or low cost source to learn how to understand completely what it means? Again thanks for the help I love this community!

I guess one more question. What would come out of the pairing of 2 of the offspring from that cross? Would I get half and half or does it not work that way? I'm learning thanks for your patience.
