This is about me. I'm keeping it simple and copy pasting the example questions. I finally decided to bite the bullet and register because I've finally run into a problem I can't quite find an answer to.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I've had chickens for years now. It's been close to 20 years since I brought my first chickens home. My first two were Sasha, an Auracana and Amy, a buff orpington. Total whim at the feed store, getting stuff for my horse. One perched on my finger, so I took her home. They lived in a box in room for weeks, sat on my shoulders while I played games on my computer, took naps on my chest and more.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I currently have 3 "flocks". A rooster and a couple hens from last fall, 9 new hens from this spring (one of which is currently living in my bathroom due to a wound) and our broody hen and her babies. This spring I lost my oldest hen, Ruby, at 8 years old.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Ummm.....everything? Well not quite. Currently I have Auracanas, Cuckoo Marans, Buff Cochins, Blue Cochins, Welsummers, red laced blue Wyandotte and Buff Brahmas. And a big black hen that I'm not sure of, possibly a Jersey. And please pardon my spelling.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Google? I think? Maybe it was my sister. It's been so many years I can't recall. I've been lurking here for years.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I love antiques, repurposing and restoring furniture and fun vintage finds. I love to weave and spin and play with dolls. And gardening, although it's been a year or two since I've done anything more than plant a few flowers. 100 degree HUMID weather just is not...fun.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have a small family, three young kids who LOVE chickens as much as I do, kittens, Shetland ponies, a Doberman live quite happily on our little farm.
