Hello all. I currently have 2 incubators going at the moment. One is for peafowl eggs, (just placed them yesterday), and the other is for Ayam Cemani. None were shipped, so they've been handled carefully. The incubators are indoors, but I'd like to know if I should try dry-hatching both of them or what the temp/humidity settings should be on each one. The reason I am asking is because I haven't had good hatch rates with the Ayam Cemani vs. other eggs. I am new to peafowl, but was told to incubate them the same way as turkey eggs, which I have done in the past.

I do not dry hatch and never will as granted we have high humidity most times in Wisconsin, but the incubators maintain what they are set at.

I just don't believe in greasing the wheel if it doesn't need greasing. Sorry, just an old saying.

That said, as long as you have researched it thoroughly so you know what you're doing, and you really want to try it, then I don't see why not try it.

If you search dry hatching here, you'll find a lot of helpful posts to peruse such as this one: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/dry-hatching.1618589/

I'm in Tennessee, so we have a fair amount of humidity here as well.
