Hello everyone so I have these two call ducks there both 4 weeks old and got them from Metzer both very healthy but I noticed that one of the call ducks is by far larger than the other call even his bill is longer so does anyone have a clue what’s going on?

It’s totally normal for ducks to have some size variation, even if they’re from the same hatch. It could be genetics, or if one is a male (drake), that could explain the difference in size as well. Sometimes, one might just be a bit more dominant at feeding times too. As long as both of them are healthy, active, and eating well, it’s probably nothing to worry about. If you're concerned, just keep an eye on their growth and behavior.

Okay I was just confused on why it’s bill was bigger than the other call but they both are active and eating very well

Just keep an eye on them and make sure they're out staying active and healthy if anybody has signs of sickness or something just just contact us and also I think it might be a Drake or maybe a growth spurt in one and not in the other.

What ducks have you raised?

Hi there! Pictures would be helpful.

I raise Call Ducks and Muscovy ducks. Some size variation is normal, and the bill size can vary a lot in Call Ducks, so much so that there have been times I've doubted the duckling with a larger bill was a Call Duck.
