I got this email about The Livestock Conservancy wanting to get a chicken census. I was wondering if everyone on BYC who is a North American Breeder could help with this census. I just got ahold of Malays, just haven't started breeding them yet, they just turned 3 weeks old.

Do you have to be recognized? I thought that if you breed pure bred chickens, you can fill out the survey.

I honestly don't know how it works, I'm new to this thing sort of.

I've been breeding for a few years, primarily project birds, & soon help with the preservation of the Malay chickens.

I really think that you should take the survey then. Especially how you are going to be breeding the Malays. I'm soo happy that you are going to be breeding them! If I could, I'd love to breed some and help save the Malays too!

What do they want if the varieties are mixed together but the breed is purebred?
