thanks guys very useful info i think ive searched and found enough info now i will now look to start getting my parent stock,i will be using two different blood lines at the same time so as when the last cross is done they are not related il keep everyone posted thanks.

also what would happen it i reversed the cross ie pbr to campine hens and so on instead of campine cockerel to pbr hens i know this is not how cambars are bread and i dont intend doing this im just curious as to what would happen thanks

I was reading on the autosexing breeds from this:

I think that your crosses of barred and campines would give basically the same chickens (genetically) except if you didn't use the golden gene male with the silver gene female you wouldn't get autosexing. If you want performance -- say egg laying from the two breeds it probably wouldn't matter, but if you want autosexing, then it would have to be done in a particular way. Hope it makes sense. :O) Or I should say, hope you can make sense of what I am trying to say.

Hi chrischuck:
Was reading your cambar post from 2012, how is that going, I have decided to try this too since I have some Golden Campines and Bar Rocks. Would be interested in your progress and share data/pictures. I am in NC, where are you at?
