I’m on a very tight budget, looking into possibly getting a camera set up to monitor who is lurking around our coop. Any recommendations? Our coop is just barely in our WiFi range. Having 2-3 cameras hooked up would be ideal.

I don't have WiFi at my coops. I'm always looking for good deals on cameras. I use game cameras, not WiFi. Do you have electric in your coops? Wyse are very reasonable. Don't know if they have outdoor cameras. They didn't but you could buy after market waterproof cases for them. They work on AC unless they now make battery operated cameras. In this thread when I have found a good deal on a game cameras, I have posted it. Good luck and have fun...

YouTube has a lot of good videos on different cameras so you can see the differences. I went with the game cameras because they are mounted outside as I wanted to see what predators roam here especially at night when they do their roaming here.

I bought some Blink cameras a few years ago. Easy to setup. Free cloud storage. The last critters I got on them were not very good quality. I switched the video to HD. And I moved it to point away from the coop. That hopefully will show a predator approaching the coop. It is about 75-100' from our wireless. So that is the edge of the distance our wireless works. blink.JPG

Most all cameras take good daytime pictures but not all take good nighttime pictures unless you are fairly close to the subject.

We use zmodo cameras, they have great night vision, indoor/outdoor use, easy to operate, motion detector and I love being able to check in anywhere from my phone. They are not the cheapest and do require WiFi, but I just wanted to share what works great for our farm in case anyone else was following the thread. I also use several models of inexpensive game cameras. You don't get "live coverage" but they can give lots of answers.

I don’t have power to the coop. It’s about 50ft to the nearest outlet.
