I have a baby Turkey with no egg tooth, it pipped and lost the egg tooth at some point. Can it finish hatching, it has a relatively large pip. Definitely missing egg tooth. I think the hen I had it under had something to do with that, but it’s in the incubator and seems fine now.

Edit: here’s some proof of her biting it from the game cam, I'm disappointed in her.

The photo is too out of focus to say for sure but it looks like the egg tooth is there. It also looks like the hen is assisting in the hatch.

You might need to "zip" the shell for it. Big holes like that can lead to dried out membranes causing hatch problems.

Oh sorry, in this photo the baby had the egg tooth still, now it has no egg tooth and blood on its beak. I also saw her bite it when I walked out to check on it. Maybe she was trying to assist, but it seemed awfully violent.

I could always put it back under her, I just don’t want to risk a casualty seeing as I already have one lonely one hatched.
