Can anyone tell me the breed of this one?

I got this girl from my mother in law. I have two alike and the rest Easter Eggers. She lays white eggs and I can’t figure out what breed she is! Any ideas? (The yellow one)

Possibly a buff Minorca, although those are pretty rare.

That is my guess, too. Or Catalana del Prat, but those are even more rare.

Since your others are EEs, she's likely a mix of more common breeds, as well ... a very pretty mix, BTW!

If your mother in law got them as chicks from a hatchery or bought them from store, that one is probably a Buff Minorca.

But if your mother in law hatched eggs from her flock to produce these chickens, or got them from someone who hatched eggs from their flock, I would guess that one is a mix of some sort, and I don't have any good way to guess what breeds might have gone into the mix.

I think you might be right! Everything I read about them, even temperament matches up. Funny to think Ace hardware had a rare breed! Lol

Sometimes a store like that will get a "rare breed assortment," and then you can find just about anything. That is what I would guess happened.
