Can baby chicks have Cinnamon Apple-sauce?

^ that’s the question! Can they? Reason I’m asking is I have a “slower”, not necessarily weaker, 2 day old chick. I’m thinking he could eat it a LOT easier than the starter feed. Of course I’ll still offer the starter grower, but maybe the applesauce could give him a boost? I’m already putting PND in the water as well.

Take a small amount of chick starter, soak it in warm water for about 30 minutes, make it into a nice wet mash about the consistency of your applesauce. Give that to your chick.

While the applesauce won't hurt her, it's not a nutritional as starter and it can cause a bit of diarrhea as well.

I use a coffee grinder for my tiny Ducklings that have issues with bigger crumbles. Does it eat at all? I would sprinkle feed on the paper towels and I bet it eats the feed.

Thank you! The only way I can get him to actually eat is to wet the starter grower and feed him like what you saw in the video. I’m trying my hardest to keep him strong and healthy.

He eats a bit. I usually have to feed him like what you saw in the video. I’ll try sprinkling small bits on a paper towel and see what happens. Thank you!
